The Standard Poodle is a squarly built and well proportioned dog breed. With proud carriage and elegant appearance, it moves with a springy, effortless gait. The Standard Poodle, being an extremely intelligent dog breed, is very easy to train and makes a great family pet.

The Miniature Poodle is a squarly built and well proportioned dog breed, who was bred down from the Standard Poodle. With proud carriage and elegant appearance, it is an intelligent and lively breed. The Miniature Poodle, being an extremely intelligent dog breed, is very easy to train and makes a great family pet.

Proud and dignified, with elegant carriage, the Toy Poodle dog breed is intelligent and full of liveliness and perkiness. The Toy Poodle has an athletic history in its genes, having been bred from working retriever stock, and it moves with a springy, effortless gait. The Toy Poodle is eager to please and easy to train.

Height:
Standard Poodles range from 22 inches to 27 inches.
Miniature Poodles range from 11 inches to 15 inches.
Toy Poodles are 10 inches or smaller


Weight:
Standard Poodles range from 45 to 70 pounds.
Miniature Poodles range from 15 to 20 pounds.
Toy Poodles range from 4 to 8 pounds.


Colors:
Poodles can be any solid color.

Coat:
frizzy or curly coats, which are dense and harsh. Regular grooming is required.

Temperament:
Poodles are intelligent, lively

Care and Exercise:
Frequent trimming, brushing and shampooing of the coat. Ears must be kept very clean. Nails trimmed short and teeth brushed weekly. Even the pet poodle should attend the canine beauty parlor every six weeks or so. Standard Poodles enjoy a fair amount of exercise like swimming and retrieving, walks or free run. Makes a great jogging partner

Hip dysplasia and stifle problems.

Living Environment:
Standard Poodles do well in homes with fenced yards because they are active dogs who enjoy exercise.
Miniature Poodles are less active than the Standard Poodles and do well in apartments. A walk each day and a play session at home is a sufficient amount of exercise for this dog breed.
Toy Poodles do well in apartments and are good dogs for less active people. One walk a day is fine for this breed.
